Fiddler's Canyon Elementary Second Place
Mrs. Linford & Ms. Du

My great grandma RaNee was born on December 5, 1934. She grew up in the small town of Glenwood, Utah. She would always tell us funny stories about when she was younger. They used to mix up the cows in the pastures to confuse the farmers and one time took apart a horse wagon and put it back together on top of a building.

She moved to California and taught elementary school for one year. Then she moved back to Utah and got set up on a date with my great grandpa Arno Jensen and they got married on January 31, 1959. They had nine children and she stayed home to take care of them while grandpa worked at their farm and dairy. When her kids were all grown up she went to Snow College to become a teacher again and she taught fourth grade until she was seventy years old. One cool fact is that she got to teach most of her grandkids when they went to fourth grade.

Her most favorite place was the cabin on Monroe Mountain. They built the cabin as a family and she spent as much time as she could there. She loved having people come to the cabin and she was famous for her grease eggs she made on the wood stove every morning. She hated that she couldn't go to the cabin in the winter, so my grandpa built her a mini cabin in their backyard. At Christmas time we would go to the cabin in the backyard to listen to Christmas music and drink hot chocolate.

Grandma RaNee was a hard worker and a great teacher. She worked very hard to raise her kids and help on the farm. She was also an amazing baker and made the best caramel popcorn ever. She was also very supportive of making sure she attended all of her grandkids activities. She took a notebook to every game and took score of the points each grandchild made. At the end of the season she would give them their own book of how they did during the year.

She was also always ready for adventure. She never said no to a trip. My favorite memory is when she came fishing at Otter Creek and camped in our trailer with us a few months before se did. She just sat in her chair and kept saying how fun it was just to be lazy and enjoy the quiet.

Grandma Ranee taught everyone in her family to work hard, be kind and that family was most important. She died on July 31, 2022 and I miss her a lot.
