My name is Brayzen Issa and I chose my grandpa Jeff because he inspires me to be in the military just like him. My grandpa Jeff is awesome, cool, funny, brave, and strong. Jeffrey Glen Issa was born on March 11, 1969 in Long Beach, California. His mom and dad are Allen and Dorma Issa. His dad which is my great grandpa was born in Lebanon and came to America in 1965. Jeff's mom was from Colorado. My last name is cool because it comes from Lebanon. My grandpa Jeff moved to Utah when he was in third grade. He grew up in Richfield. Jeff is the middle child of three boys.
Grandpa Jeff liked to play baseball, football, and was always outside when he was a kid. He did LOTS of reading. He is a huge book nerd. He graduated Richfield high school in 1987. After high school he joined the National Guard. He went to basic training at Fort Seal. He joined the Army because his best friend did. After boot camp he went home and went to college for civil engineering. He got a certificate in architectural drafting at Sevier valley tech it is called Snow College now. Jeff then went to work for the Utah Department of Transportation where he worked from 1994-2007.
Jeff met Sharmell who is my grandma. They got married on May 09, 1992. They had 3 kids. My dads name is Brandon and he is the oldest and the coolest like grandpa Jeff and in the Army like him too. Sebastian and Tavia Issa are the younger kids. They lived in Monroe, Utah.
My grandpa Jeff went full time with the National Guard in 2007. While he was there he had lots of neat jobs. Jeff was a cannon crew member, first sergeant, targeting officer, and operations officer. I don’t know what those all mean but they sound like cool jobs. He has been to so many places all over the world. Jeff has been to Canada, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Dubai, Morocco, Turkey, Germany, South Korea, and Japan while he has been in the Army. My grandpa was deployed in 2005 to fight the war in Iraq. My grandpa Jeff is so cool that he gets to be warrant officer State Command Chief Warrant Officer. He is a leader for all the warrant officers in the whole State of Utah with the National Guard. He is there boss and his job seems so awesome. I hope one day to be as cool as him in the Army and go all over the world just like him!!
