Hello my name is Preslie, today I will be telling you about Margie Meacham Knudsen. Grandma Margie was born on October 31, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the 3rd of 4 children. Growing up grandma’s parents were alcoholic, and would often hit her and her siblings because they were drunk. At 16 grandma began working. She paid for everything she bought. Grandma always wanted horses. She was in the choir in high school. One day she went to the boys section on accident, that's how she met a cowboy who owned horses.
Grandma ended up marrying that cowboy. They had 5 children; 3 boys and 2 girls. They were named Candice, Deedra, Clint, Travis, and Dean. When their kids were either in high school or had graduated Grandma and my Grandpa moved from Salt Lake to Price. Then her oldest child Clint got married, he and his wife both had kids, grandma became a grandma! Soon all her children had kids and she was back in Salt Lake City, Utah.
My family and I once went to Disneyland with grandma, grandpa, and my other cousins. We went on many rides together and got treats, and fun prizes! When we were getting ready to leave, the nightly fireworks went off. This made my grandma jump and scream, when she jumped I jumped because it scared me too. Me, mom, and grandma started laughing so hard we cried! Another time me, mom, and grandma were at the Hogle Zoo. We started by going to the zebras, gazelles, and giraffes. When we heard the lions roaring, we zoomed over there. It was so cool! When we got home we had my favorite food, ham chowder!
Me and grandma have a lot in common! We both love sports. I play soccer, volleyball, and basketball. My grandma used to play softball, volleyball, and she was a cheerleader. Me and grandma also love reading, and so does my mom! Another memory I have with Grandma is when she did grandma camp. My cousins and I had a blast! Me and grandma both enjoy crafts and being outside.
Just a couple of days ago my grandma and grandpa got a mission call to San Diego, California. I want to be just like my grandma! She is always helping people when they are in need, she had a rough childhood but she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet! She is a great cook and will always be making crafts for you or planning something. I really admire my grandma because she is always willing to help. I hope you enjoyed learning about Margie Meacham Knudsen as much as I did!
